7th Grade--12/3

Today students worked in groups on the introductory lesson for the utopia unit. These lessons can be found on Schoology and were leveled based on the results of the utopia preassessment. After that, students had the last 10-15 minutes of class to read the mentor text for this unit and respond to the discussion question on Schoology.

Today we discussed the different elements of persuasive and argumentative writing, looking at a powerpoint that highlights these elements. Next, students began to read the mentor texts and respond to the discussion questions on Schoology.
