7th Grade--10/23

Today we began class by learning the WM word "germinate". Next, I assigned book group novels and passed out the texts. You may begin reading for Tuesday of next week.

We began fiction writing for the day by talking about how to build suspense in a horror story through foreshadowing. We modeled this process as a class by working backwards from the climax of the story to subtly suggest what is going to eventually take place. Students then had the rest of the period to do this activity for their stories and continue drafting.
