Today we began class by turning in our essay rough draft packets. Students then met in pairs or groups of three to look at sample pieces of student writing (
worksheet can be found here) and discuss gender clues in the written voice. After the groups had looked at all the samples, we discussed them as a full class. After that, students had about 20-25 minutes to write in their journals. At the end of class, we shared sentences and students completed an exit slip about their character.
